If you would like to present a talk to the BNS Seminar, please reach out to the hosts at their e-mails. The hosts for 2025/2026 are Alia Mahrez (alia.mahrez@psych.ubc.ca), Daria Oleinichenko (daria.oleinichenko@ubc.ca), and Matthew Cooke (matthew.cooke@ubc.ca).
These are usually 30-45 minute talks by fellow BNS students or other graduate students/post docs/undergraduate RAs who want to give a talk relevant to the BNS area. The topic of the presentation is not strict, and diverse topics are of course welcomed. The talks can also be done as a pair or small group of presenters.
These talks are an excellent way to get feedback on data, project proposals, and methodology from BNS peers. People often find them useful to prepare themselves for their upcoming Master’s or PhD defence. Additionally, by attending you can get a sense of what each lab’s current research directions are for potential collaborations.
